A new workflow automation solution streamlines charitable deliveries for Impact for Women, supporting expanded operations.
Impact for Women is a not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne that supports women and children escaping family violence in Victoria. They procure donations and create “Bags of Love” filled with essential items a woman needs to support herself and her family during this difficult time.
The Challenge
The organisation was struggling to meet agency demand for their charitable deliveries and was experiencing a key person dependency issue. The complex delivery allocation process for their “Bags of Love” relied almost entirely on manual processes, including cumbersome spreadsheets and error-prone emails, which took one person – Founder Kathy Kaplan – 60+ hours to perform. The organisation sought a better way to approach this challenge that would allow them to improve and expand their operations.
The Solution
OutSystems graciously provided Impact for Women free access to their AI-powered low-code platform to build a mission-critical application to automate the charity’s operations. Designed and custom-built by volunteer PhoenixDX staff, the workflow automation solution allows designated staff members to centrally manage the resource allocation to agencies via the app’s dashboard. Reducing admin by 40+ hours, the app recommends available volunteer drivers for delivery allocation and automatically sends emails to drivers and agencies with the assignment.
