Senior Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner – Custom Enterprise Application software Development

This role is for a Technical BA / Product Owner who comes from a multi-year  background in application software development as a Senior Technical BA, understand business, understands the concept of digital transformation (beyond the buzz-word”), uses agile but is not used BY it and is at home working with a small team designing and delivering amazing core operational enterprise grade application systems – rapidly and beautifully.

Skilled in seeing the big picture, ability to envision and project a picture of solutions, writing user stories, past experience developing software, skilled in re-imagining processes, prototyping, agile development, BA tools, BPMN, using diagrams instead of writing long and very detailed functional specifications.
This role combines the elements of Technical BA and Product Manager (depending upon the project) and requires a wide range of skills covering enterprise application software solution development, product management, business analysis as well as client facing and people/co-elevation skills.

Our ideal candidate will have. a solid track record working on significant custom development application development projects – where it is custom software development – not package implementation or customisation.
Experience in a number of enterprise organisations, ideally spanning a range of diverse industries where the focus of your work has been as an integral part of a building custom software “systems of differentiation” solutions/products (See Gartner Pace Layer Model)  and/or delivering on digital transformation for the enterprise.

As a Senior Technical Business Analyst/Product Owner, you will be responsible for gathering or consolidating  the overall requirements, both functional and non-functional, and developing the Epics and User Stories from which the developers can build the solution.

It will be essential for you to feel comfortable contributing to the design and specification of custom solutions from “the ground up”. This role will coordinate with multiple business sponsors, and work with the development teams to deliver large enterprise solutions which meet the customer’s needs.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Mandatory to have worked in Custom Software Development (as opposed to package implementation and customisation). Candidates with extensive custom software development and product management exposure will be highly regarded for this role
  2. Mandatory to have strong experience (5+ years) as Business Analyst, including more than 2 years as a Senior Business Analyst
  3. Experience with agile methodology mandatory and digital product experience is also essential.  Additional experience across other delivery approaches and methodologies is well regarded.
  4. Exposure to various enterprise systems and solutions in various industries.
  5. Role based in Sydney.
