Sydney: Leading from the front

The Sydney Developer Day was a standout, with PhoenixDX represented by Ossama Ghanem, Nigel Lamb, Bhavya Shah, Matt Holihan, Sean Chamberlin, João Melo, Margaret Mendoza, Ruki Kurukulasuriya, and Patricia Gailey.

It was a proud moment for the team, with 7 of the 9 recognised OutSystems Super Users in Australia coming from PhoenixDX. Further, our experts delivered 2 of the 3 community presentations – a clear reflection of the depth of capability within our team.

Ossama Ghanem’s session focused on the design and delivery of Victoria Police’s ePINs solution, transforming a paper-based fines process into a scalable, statewide digital platform used by over 10,000 officers. He shared the technical approach to rapid delivery, including offline-first mobile design, real-time synchronisation, and complex system integration, while also demonstrating how the solution laid the foundation for broader digital innovation.

Nigel Lamb presented a Forge component built by Leonardo Fernandes that embeds testing directly into the development process, helping teams validate applications as they build. His session highlighted how the Testing Framework enables reliable unit testing using mock data, private action testing, and data-driven scenarios, giving teams greater confidence to release changes faster while reducing defects and reliance on manual testing.

Manila: Building momentum through collaboration

In Manila, our Philippines team, Elizabeth Sumalde, Rodel Fabella, Christian de Leon, Elizer Casabuena, Kenneth Alberto, and Gillian Ilagan, connected with the local developer community, sharing ideas and exploring the latest innovations.

RJ Fabella and Elizabeth Sumalde presented the “BA AI Cookbook,” which outlines how AI can accelerate delivery and improve quality across the lifecycle. Together, they showcased how AI enables smarter requirements traceability, improved Jira workflows and superior discovery, and the session was extremely well received.

The event highlighted the energy and passion within the local ecosystem, with a strong focus on practical learning and real-world application of new capabilities.

Kuala Lumpur: Showcasing innovation

In Kuala Lumpur, Izam Basiron took the stage to present Flowmo, an “Agentic AI Bridge” designed to connect AI-driven development with OutSystems. The solution enables a zero-infrastructure, offline-first environment, helping AI generate and validate workflows with precision. By transforming general AI models into specialised OutSystems experts, Flowmo dramatically accelerates the prototyping cycle, from hours to milliseconds.
